Everyone thrives in a great school. Students are fully engaged and enjoy learning; relationships across the school are positive and respectful; creativity, diversity and critical thinking are valued and everyone feels they belong; it takes courage and commitment to create such a school.
Growing Great Schools™ was established by Sue Roffey with partners around the world to promote ways for all schools to become great schools. ***
You can find out more by checking out the ‘What we do‘ and ‘How we work‘ menus at the top of the page.
Our partners are individuals, organisations and schools whose main purpose is education for wellbeing – to build healthy relationships, resilience and social and emotional development. Teacher wellbeing is part of this. We have not had the capacity to approach everyone we know, so we welcome applications from all who wish to join us in this endeavour. Someone coined the phrase ‘wellbeing warriors’. This is what we are! You do not have to be as big as the Carnegie Centre for Excellence in Mental Health in Schools in the UK or Positive Schools in Australia but you do have to be willing to walk the talk – see ‘how we work’ on this site. Hopefully for people in this field this should not be a big ask!
At the moment, much of the website contains stuff I (Sue Roffey) have done and written but this balance should change quickly. Although happy to take a lead, we are seeking to establish a resource hub that promotes the work of all partners and gives information about good practice internationally. Please send us information to upload, including links to relevant publications.
If you don’t want to be a partner but would like to receive the occasional newsletter just sign up by clicking on the Register button at the bottom of the page – no need to do that if you were already on Sue Roffey’s mailing list, though you will need to sign up if you want to comment or contribute to this site. And please pass this on to whoever might be interested.
